Duterte signs free tuition law
A dream-come true for students who strive to study and finish college education to land for the Best Job in town and alleviate poverty.
The Free Tuition Bill was signed into a law by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte last March 2018, to take effect this school year 2018-2019. A law designed to give full tuition subsidy for students in State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Local University and Colleges (LUCs) and State-run Technical-Vocational Schools.
Who may avail the “Free Tuition Law”?
Students who are, and will enroll in State Universities and Colleges, Local Universities and Colleges for a bachelor’s degree, certificate degree, or any comparable undergraduate degrees.
How to avail the “Free Tuition Law?
The law applies to everyone interested to pursue tertiary education in the above institutions, provided he/she passed the entrance examination and other admission and retention requirement in his/her preferred SUC or LUC.
