The Social Security System is a social institution which could serve as your financial partner which you can turn to in case of emergencies or financial needs like sickness, maternity, disability, work injury, retirement or death. If you are a member you can avail of a short-term salary loan intended for personal purposes.
Who are eligible for a salary loan?
An SSS employed member, currently-paying self-employed, or voluntary member
- For a one-month loan, a member should have contributed at least 36 posted months of contribution, six (6) of which shall be within the last twelve (12) months prior to the filing of the application.
- For a two-month loan, a member should have contributed at least 72 posted months of contribution, six (6) of which shall be within the last twelve (12) months prior to the filing of the application.
The member-borrower employer must be updated with the payment of the monthly contributions.
The member-borrower has not been granted final benefit like Total Permanent Disability, Retirement and Death.
The member-borrower at the time of application must be under 65 years of age and
The member-borrower must have not been disqualified due to fraud committed against the SSS.
Payment Terms and Schedule
- The salary loan is payable within two (2) years in 24 monthly Installment
- The first monthly amortization starts on the second month following the date of loan which is due on or before payment schedule deadline.
3. Payment can be made at any SSS branches with tellering facilities or at any bank or authorized payment centers.
How to Apply?
- A member-borrower must fill-out Member Loan Application Form and must present SSS Digitized ID or E-6 (acknowledgement stub) with any two valid ID’s, one with a recent photo.

Requirement if filed by Member-Borrower authorized representative
- Member-borrower’s duly accomplished Member Loan Application
- Two valid ID of representative both with signature and at least one with photo
- Member-borrower Letter of Authority signed by both member and authorized representative
- Member-borrower SS Card or any 2 valid ID with signature and one with photo
Requirement if filed by Employer/ Company’s Authorized Representative
- Member-borrower’s duly accomplished Member Loan Application
- Authorized Company Representative (ACR) Card issued by SSS
- Letter of Authority (LOA) from Employer and two valid ID with signature and at least one with photo
- Member-borrower’s SSS ID Card or in absence, application for SS Card (SS form E-6) acknowledgement stub or two valid ID with signature at least one with photo.
Original or Certified True Copies of the supporting documents should be presented upon the filing of the claim.
Filing Procedure
A borrower may file at the nearest SSS office in his residence or place of business. A member registered at My.SSS can submit his online loan application. Same salary loan application will be directed to the employer’s My.SSS account for certification, so it is a Must that an employer must have an SSS web account.
OFW may also file their salary loan application at the SSS Foreign Representative offices in the country they are working. In case there is no SSS office, they may send their application and supporting documents to their relatives here in the Philippines and authorize them to file at the SSS Branch.
Documents issued in other countries should be duly authenticated or certified by the Philippine Consulate Embassy.
IMPORTANT: The employer shall submit an updated specimen card (SS Form L-501) to be updated annually to avoid delay in the processing of salary loan application.
