The Philippine Statistics Authority, also known before as the National Statistics Office announced that effective February 2, 2018 the cost of processing for registry documents had increased.
The documents referred here includes cost in securing a copy of a Birth or Death Certificate, a Certificate of Marriage (CEMAR) and a Certificate of no Marriage (CENOMAR).
For those application/request for copies made before February 2, 2018 but paid after or on the same date are subjected to the new rates.

PSA 7 Regional Director Ariel Florendo said that the increase in fees is pursuant to Section 12 of Bureau of Internal Revenue Regulations 4-2018 and Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Documentary Stamp Tax under Republic Act 10953 or the Tax for Acceleration and Inclusion Law (TRAIN).
The Documentary Stamp Tax (DST) also increases by 100% from P15 making it P30 by now.
The Agency also encourage to those who work abroad but come home every year or every two years are still considered as Cebu residents and are encouraged to secure certificates from PSA to update their records in the National System.
To parents who have also children who are about to attend formal schooling, they are all advised to secure a copy of their Birth Certificates from PSA to prevent long lines during regular school opening and to check if the information as provided during registration are the same in the PSA Copy.
