What will I do if I travel with my favorite pet Dog or Cat?
We had been receiving inquiries about what to do when you are travelling with your favorite dog or cat? and, What are the documents needed for the transport of pets and other animals?
We are sharing here information based from the Department of Agriculture, the Bureau of Animal Industry and in cooperation with the Provincial Veterinary Office in Cebu. Please take note of the different documentary requirements according to species.
Shipping Requirements of Pets and Other Animals
1.Specie: Dogs and Cats
Purpose: Pets
Animal Health Requirement:
- Minimum age of 3.5 to 4 months and above are allowed for shipments
- Your pet must have been vaccinated against Rabies for not more than one (1) year, but not less than 14 days at the time of shipment.
- Must have a Veterinary Health Certificate
2. Game Fowls
- Must have been vaccinated against Newcastle’s Disease and Veterinary Health Clearance
3. Pigeons
- BAI accreditation of Pigeon Association
4. Other Poultry (Broilers & Layers)
- Tested Negative against Avian Influenza, Salmonella and Newcastle’s Disease
5. Horses
- Negative Health Certificate
6. Large Ruminants
For Slaughter Purposes, must present Veterinary Health Certificate
For Breeding Purposes (Shipment including their Semen and Embryo)
- Negative test result but not limited to FMD (Foot & Mouth Disease), TuberculosisSurra and Brucellosis
- Must be vaccinated against Hemosepticimia
- Animal Health Certification for Animals for coming from Anthrax and Blackleg Places (Identified are in CAR, Region 1 and 2)
7. Small Ruminants
For Breeding Purposes (Shipment including their Semen and Embryo)
- Negative Results for Caprine Arthritis Encephalitis and Brucellosis
For Slaughter Purposes, must present Veterinary Health Certificate
8. Swine
For Breeding Purposes (Shipment including their Semen and Embryo)
- Negative Result but not limited to Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS), Pseudorabies and Brucellosis together with Vaccination Program.
